once upon a time:

Tumblr is confusing. I don't know what I'm doing, but in general, Brandi Carlile, F.R.I.E.N.D.S., the L Word, horses, Andrea Gibson, and social justice are the things that are here.

What’s the worst possible thing you can call a woman? Don’t hold back, now.
You’re probably thinking of words like slut, whore, bitch, cunt (I told you not to hold back!), skank.
Okay, now, what are the worst things you can call a guy? Fag, girl, bitch, pussy. I’ve even heard the term “mangina.”
Notice anything? The worst thing you can call a girl is a girl. The worst thing you can call a guy is a girl. Being a woman is the ultimate insult. Now tell me that’s not royally fucked up.

You know what sucks? I can’t think of any movies where girls get to be ridiculous and rebels and fuck up a lot without any repercussions. There are plenty of movies about guys doing stupid shit and it’s all a comedy and hahaha how hilarious they’re smoking weed. But I can’t think of a single movie about girls doing the same.

Have you ever heard of Foxfire, a novel (and also adapted into a bad movie, I think) by Joyce Carol Oates? It’s not a comedy, but otherwise it’s pretty much what you’re describing. Loads of intersections of gender/class/sexuality/race, and it’s gorgeously written. You should find it.
